Competition Law

Competition is an essential part of economic life. The competition law serves to regulate the behaviour within the competitive environment of an existing market on behalf of the competitors, the consumers and the general public. In this context, competition sensitive laws are enacted to ensure fair behaviour within a market.

The competition law is mostly regulated by the UWG (Act Against Unfair Practices) as well as by ancillary laws.

Acts of unfair competition which are capable of significantly interfering with the competition to the disadvantage of the competitors, the consumers or any other market participants are illegal. Any violation of competition laws can give rise to action for injunctive relief and claims for damages and should therefore be well prepared.
